NHS dental treatment in Buckie and Keith

We offer NHS orthodontic treatment for eligible patients under the age of 18, giving access to traditional metal braces where there is a clinical need. This treatment is provided at no cost, subject to meeting the required criteria. To be considered, patients must:

• Be under 18 years old
• Have a clear clinical need for treatment, assessed using the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN)

The IOTN is used to measure how severe dental irregularities are. NHS treatment is typically reserved for moderate to more complex cases where there is a functional need. Cosmetic concerns alone would not usually qualify for NHS orthodontic care.

If NHS treatment isn’t the right fit, don’t worry, we can talk through your options with you. Many patients choose private orthodontic treatment, which can offer more flexibility, shorter waiting times and a wider choice of brace types, including more discreet options.
