Put confidence back into your smile with dental veneers

Veneers are one of the most transformative cosmetic dental treatments, offering a versatile solution to a variety of aesthetic dental concerns.

The next best thing to your natural tooth, porcelain veneers are a popular cosmetic dental treatment that can brighten your smile and restore your self-confidence. With porcelain veneers, you can improve the colour, size, shape and position of your teeth. They also help restore and protect teeth which have been eroded over the years by exposure to acids in your diet.

If you have teeth that are damaged or stained, getting bespoke veneers is the perfect treatment for you.

What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made coverings that are placed over the front of your teeth. They are designed to improve the colour, shape and alignment of your smile, creating a more even and natural-looking appearance.

Consult our expert cosmetic dental team for more information about the placement of porcelain veneers.

Who are dental veneers for?

Veneers are an excellent option for those wishing to address a variety of cosmetic dental concerns, including:

  • Teeth that are discoloured from root canal treatments, staining, large resin fillings, or other factors.
  • Teeth that are worn down, chipped, or broken.
  • Teeth that are slightly misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped.
  • Gaps or spaces between teeth.

Why choose dental veneers?

Veneers offer a fast, effective way to enhance your smile with long-lasting results. They are carefully designed to look natural, helping you feel more confident in everyday life. They offer:

  • Aesthetic improvement. Veneers can dramatically enhance the appearance of your teeth, leading to a brighter, more uniform smile. Porcelain offers a translucent quality that closely mimics natural tooth enamel.
  • Customisation. They are tailored to suit your facial features and aesthetic preferences.
  • Durability. Porcelain veneers, in particular, are known for their strength and longevity.
  • Stain resistance. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than natural tooth enamel.

Minimal enamel removal. Veneers typically require less removal of tooth enamel compared to crowns.

What happens during veneer treatment?

Your dentist will begin with a detailed assessment of your teeth and a discussion about your goals. Digital scans may be used to plan your results and ensure everything is tailored to your smile.

After preparing the teeth, your custom veneers are created to match your natural appearance. They are then carefully fitted and adjusted, giving you a smooth, secure and natural-looking finish.

Lovely dentistry. Made me feel comfortable and laugh during my tooth extraction, despite my extreme anxiety. Even let me keep the tooth! 5/5, couldn't recommend the team any more!

How your new smile is crafted

01

Consultation and treatment planning

Your journey begins with a detailed discussion about your smile goals and a thorough dental examination. This helps us assess your oral health, review your expectations, and design a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.

02

Tooth preparation

If you’re ready to go ahead, your dentist will begin preparing your tooth. To do this, a small amount of enamel is gently removed from the surface of your teeth to make space for the veneers. This step is essential for achieving a secure, natural-looking fit.

03

Impressions or digital scans

We take precise impressions or digital scans of your prepared teeth. These records are used to custom craft your veneers for a perfect fit and appearance.

Temporary veneers

While your permanent veneers are being created, temporary veneers may be placed to protect your teeth and maintain your smile’s appearance.

Bonding

Once your custom veneers are ready, they are carefully bonded to your teeth. Final adjustments are made to ensure comfort, function, and aesthetics, and a special light may be used to secure them in place.

Your dental veneer questions answered

How do I start dental veneer treatment?

When you visit our practice, our expert cosmetic team will discuss your veneer options with you. Porcelain veneers are very versatile and can be placed on single or multiple teeth.

At 8to8 Dental, we practice ethical, minimally invasive dentistry and we will only recommend the fitting of a full set of veneers for your front teeth if we feel that this is the best solution in your case. If you are not suitable for porcelain veneers but still want to improve your smile, we will suggest alternative treatment options.

The good news is that whether we recommend a full set of veneers or not, we can match the colour of your porcelain veneers so closely to your natural tooth colour that even a single veneer will be difficult to distinguish from your existing teeth.

Stained, chipped or uneven teeth are often a cosmetic issue that won’t necessarily affect your general oral health, but we understand that it can still impact one’s confidence.

Like many cosmetic dental procedures, veneers can give you the beautiful, healthy-looking smile you want and the assurance that you can step into any situation looking and feeling your best. Talk to our cosmetic team about how the placement of veneers can improve your self-confidence.

How long do dental veneers last?

With the right care, dental veneers can last for many years. Porcelain veneers are particularly durable, while composite veneers may require occasional maintenance over time.

Looking after your veneers with good daily oral hygiene, along with regular dental check-ups and hygiene appointments, plays an important role in protecting them. These visits allow us to monitor your veneers, keep your gums healthy and help maintain the overall appearance of your smile for as long as possible.

Can I combine veneers with other treatments?

Yes, veneers are often part of a wider smile makeover. Treatments such as teeth whitening or composite bonding may be recommended to achieve the best overall result.
